7/31/2019 A SMILE ADDS TO YOUR FACE VALUESmiling is proof that you are happy and enthusiastic about your life. It is also a choice, not necessarily a result. It is a decision you need to consciously make. Enthusiasm makes such a difference in everything and it improves your personality, as well as people’s opinions of you. Enthusiasm and joy help you keep a proper perspective on life and all its unexpected turns and twists, forks in the road, etc.
Walt Whitman said, “Keep your face toward the sunshine and shadows will fall behind you”. The bigger the challenge the more you need to draw on enthusiasm. Our attitude always tells others what we expect in return. As enthusiasm and happiness increase, stress and fear start to decrease. A smile can make someone’s day, it can break the ice in tough situations, it can make people feel at ease when they are nervous or uncomfortable. Enthusiasm also always inspires action. It is a sure thing that no significant accomplishments have ever been made without an enthusiastic, positive attitude. Keep the sunshine in your life by always smiling and going at every situation with enthusiasm and joy. Enthusiasm is contagious and makes the world a better place with much more sunshine than clouds and rain.

7/26/2019 Persistence Pays OffPersistent people begin their success where most others quit. Be a person of persistence and endurance.
Hebrews 12 says, “let us run with endurance the race that is set before is”... Don’t worry about how much money, ability or equipment you start with and just begin with a million dollars worth of determination. Remember: “It’s not what you have, it’s what you do with what you have that makes all the difference”. Many times our dreams and plans appear to be faltering. We are tempted to give up and quit trying, but instead, keep watering and fertilizing the dreams and plans, nurturing the seeds of the vision that God has placed within us. We know that if we do not quit, and we display endurance and perseverance, we will eventually reap a bountiful harvest. 7/25/2019 Mindset is KeyIt’s no secret that a lot of your success will come from one key thing: your mindset. Your mindset will dictate how well you can achieve things and react appropriately to negativity in your life. If you are currently chasing an idea, make sure you persist when others are doubting you. If you’re running into parts of your life where you feel there is no solution, get creative. All in all, make sure you think bigger and dream higher to keep yourself motivated and going for more! Grant Cardone also covers this topic in depth here.
7/24/2019 A GOAL IS A DREAM WITH A DEADLINEOur visions must be in writing. There is power in putting pen to paper where your dreams and visions for your life are concerned. When you commit something to writing, following through and achieving it usually follows close behind.
In the book of Habukkuk in the Bible, the Lord tells the prophet, “write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.” This scripture reveals the key to successfully setting goals. God desires us to run with the vision for our lives and as long as we are running with the vision there is much less of a chance that we will turn around. Effective goal setting gives us an opportunity to bring the future to the present, where we can visualize it and run with it today! We still have to do our job and plan and prepare. Believe for God’s plan for our lives - for God’s biggest dream for our life. When you plan, look to the future, don’t dwell on what’s past. You cannot drive forward if you are looking out the rear window. At it’s beginning, every great success seemed somewhat impossible at the time. You must always think bigger than you are because that is where God is! “With God, all things are possible”. Most people live unfulfilled, meaningless lives because they never write down the vision for their life and never see it come to fruition. If you cannot see the mark, or the finish line, you have nothing to press toward. Put God’s vision for your life on paper and start to run with his plan, making the necessary course corrections along the way. You can’t finish what you never start! Remember, you only have one...SO ROCK THIS LIFE NOW!! 7/22/2019 Morning Routines Have An ImpactThey don’t call them miracle mornings for nothing! Your morning routine has so much impact on how you achieve your goals and it is extremely important to plan out this time appropriately. Working out is always a common one to do in the mornings. It can seriously boost your mood if you use it not only to get in better shape, but also as a form of therapy or relaxation. Taking time to stay still, do yoga or meditate, is also a great option to reflect on previous days, and to plan the upcoming day! Of course, just taking some “me time” is also always good to do. Relaxing before your work day, turning on your favorite show, anything that makes your head space a little more calm and relaxed before the hectic day starts, do it! You can view Rachel Hollis’s morning routine here for inspiration.
7/20/2019 HOW TO SOAR WHEN LIFE SUCKSGive your brain a break
You cannot keep dwelling on things that are going wrong. “Where your focus goes, your energy flows”...Ralph Waldo Emerson. Help your brain switch gears by doing things that focus on the senses. Go shopping and touch different items, fabrics, etc, bake cookies or a cake, paint or draw, read a book...do something to get out of your own head (and out of your own way). Focus on what needs to be done Don’t make things worse by neglecting what needs to get done. Don’t procrastinate and let things slide. Whether it is life or work, we still have stuff that we have to do, so just DO IT. Get it over already! Get your workout in - Exercise Cardio, just getting your body moving, is best to get your energy flowing and get your heart rate up..go for a run, do pushups, run the stairs at work, take a quick walk or get outside, especially if you have a deadline at work, - just changing your physiological state helps tremendously. Find something to laugh at/someone to laugh with Laughter makes everything better. We do not laugh enough and you can always find things to make you smile. Mini-meditation There is a 2 minute emergency calm on the Calm App. which is personally a life saver for me...i absolutely LOVE this app!! There is also a Breath App on the Apple watch that many people swear by. Just take a few minutes for you to be still and silent and focus on your breathing. Do 24 Hours at a Time Focus on what a good, productive day looks like (the next 24 hours) and commit to doing your very best to see that happens. Just take one day at a time...we can only focus on the present after all. 7/17/2019 MINDSET SHIFT IS KEY TO HAPPINESSUnhappiness is a disease that is plaguing our personal lives and it is becoming rampant in the workplace. Did you know that the quality of happiness that you have right now in your life is actually determined by the mindset you have created over a period of time.
Happiness is a choice! You can choose to adjust your attitude and elevate your overall happiness by choosing to change your current mindset, no matter what your conditions or circumstances. You have to let go of any outcome and learn to “enjoy the process”, appreciate the climb and the journey. Now, more than ever, people seem to be having a much more difficult time balancing their lives and there never seems to be enough time to get everything done. This is what leads to stress levels becoming overwhelming and that “inner demon” of self-doubt, uncertainty and fear that can start to create a very dar and dangerous mindset. No matter what you do, or who you are, whether learning or teaching, if you are having fun and enjoying the process, the odds are you will achieve the desired outcome. You must find the joy in all of the things you do - “the process”, or journey, is YOUR LIFE!! It is your God-give right and obligation to enjoy every step you take toward achieving your goals. If you are consistently making the choice to enjoy yourself during the process of whatever it is that you are trying to achieve, then the chances are that you will get there even faster than you ever dreamed possible. We simply have to be conscious of the mindsets we create that defy happiness in our lives. Be present in the moment - the past is past and the future has not yet happened - what’s important is the HERE AND NOW, - this very moment! So many people think, “when i get married, when i buy the house, if only I had the money “, then I can be happy. I call “BS”!! That is a BELIEF SYSTEM that needs to be smashed to pieces ASAP!! Statements that focus on what we lack in the present, inevitably bring more of what you are focusing on and ultimately destroy your chance of enjoying the moment you are in. “Where your focus goes, your energy flows”...Ralph Waldo Emerson. You cannot wait for happiness. It can only be experienced in the present, in the moment of whatever it is that you are trying to achieve right now. I am not saying that you can’t plan for the future, set goals, or anything like that. People who consistently enjoy the process not only reap the benefits of achieving their goals, but they appreciate how they have gotten there and the person that they have become along the way. When you convince yourself that your happiness is dependent upon something that has to happen in the future it is extremely difficult to enjoy the present. Remember, the present is a GIFT and we must never forget that! It is your responsibility and choice to shift into a happier mindset. Be grateful for what you have, don’t give energy to the things you don’t have. Every single day bless all that life has given you rather than cursing what it life hasn’t given you. It is all PERSPECTIVE! It is a choice on how you deal with all of the crap that life throws at you every day. When you are able to choose to be happy and find the good in everything, you not only attract more happiness to you, but you take it wherever you go and the world will be a better place because of it! “Life isn’t measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away”...(anonymous) Remember, you only have one...so ROCK THIS LIFE NOW!! In today’s crazy world of social media and all of the hundreds of ways we are pulled in all sorts of directions, It is crucial to carve out a small block of time every day to cope with all of the stress at work. A deliberate pause (taking time daily to be still) will leave you more focused and productive, more creative and much better equipped to deal with all the crap that gets blown our way in the everyday storms of our life.
Today’s technological advancements are both a blessing and a curse. We can become overwhelmed by the endless emails, texts and social media notifications and often, even somewhat “addicted...like we cannot live without Facebook or Instagram. A “stressor” can actually be anything that knocks you out of balance and it can fall into a range of good, tolerable or toxic. It becomes dangerous and toxic when your body is constantly coping with it and there is no end in sight. We often do not even think that it affects our bodies but stress raises cortisol levels (hormone that is in our body) and if it gets way out of whack can make us physically sick as well...there can be many consequences as a result. Stress by distractions is considered chronic and that is exactly what all of the social media and emails, etc are doing. We must be mindful of taking time to decompress and turn everything off. Take a break from all the technological “chaos” and find some form of peace..whether it be a walk in nature, going to a park and having a picnic, relaxing with a good book or just listening so relaxing soft music and shutting off your mind. Sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves, and our mind, is just to simply be still and “recharge” our batteries so that we can come out stronger and more energized to face all the chaos and turmoil that inevitably will occur, 7/10/2019 Stop Letting Debt Hold You BackDebt is totally debilitating...it weighs you down, holds you back and it can keep you from taking chances and being all you can be. Not every debt can be taken care of by just writing a check, sometimes digging your way out of a dietary hole can seem impossible and that cannot be taken care of with money. You cannot reach your true potential, personally or professionally, until you commit to paying down the debt you are carrying, whatever it may be.
What if you could free yourself from the following debilitating debts..How would you feel? How much more could you accomplish and achieve?: Personal If you have been working and burning both ends of the candle, spending 10-12 hour days, what kind of toll is it taking? Are you there for your family and friends? Are you putting work before everything else? It is important to make time for the people you care about. Schedule family time, time for your friends and definitely time for yourself to decompress and re-charge. Physical Don’t be a statistic..less than 1 in 4 Americans get enough exercise. Don’t you want to create healthy habits and live a long, healthy life? All the money and material things in the world mean nothing without your health. It does not matter how much money you make or how hard you work if you do not have the vitality and energy, or the strong, healthy body, to enjoy it. You inevitably are not showing up as the best possible version of you! Professional If you have ever had a mentor then you know how valuable mentorship can be. If you cannot think of someone you know, then look to those who inspire you to be better - maybe someone you follow, someone’s books you enjoy reading, - just be sure that they are challenging you and adding value. Maybe it is you who should be a mentor to a friend or colleague and speak truth into their life. Mentors improve their understanding of what they teach by teaching others to apply the tools and they strengthen their own relationships, as well as Improving and developing their leadership skills. Financial This absolutely can be the worst, most crippling debt of all. Start small, with baby steps and don’t beat yourself up. Focus on paying back those cards with the highest interest rates first. Student loan debt should be prioritized above medical debt but both of these have much less impact when it comes to your credit score. The faster you can get out of debt and commit to NEVER getting into it again, the better. Dave Ramsey and David Bach are two of my favorite mentors where finances and savings are concerned. The Latte Factor by David Bach is one of the best books for actually teaching tactical and simplified suggestions that can be easily applied at any age. Spiritual Your spiritual life is the place where accumulated debt might be the toughest to recognize. Are you the person God intended you to be? Have you given back to the world what you truly want to? You want the world to be a better place because you are in it and we are put on this earth to make an impact and difference in people’s lives. It’s never too late!! And you are never too old!! Remember, you only have one...ROCK THIS LIFE NOW!!! 7/7/2019 Turn Setbacks into SuccessesThere are times when we feel like our world is falling apart. An event occurs that totally throws us off our game and we feel like our career or our relationships will never be the same. It’s pretty easy, as humans, to focus on the negative things that happen in life, and it can be much easier said than done to turn those setbacks into successes. We need to try our absolute best to figure out what these setbacks are trying to teach us in life, that way we can adjust and continue to move forward and grow in our lives. If such setbacks plague us, think of it as more of an opportunity to get one step closer to your dreams because the next time you’re in a negative situation, you can know what expect, adjust and control your reactions, and push on! Check out some of Tony Robbin’s own setbacks and successes here.
